This past weekend was the last of the Sunday Market at Glenwood. I had a marvelous experience re-trying this market this year (it seems to have new organizers, which is great and a notable difference compared to how it was going a few years ago.) I did far better than I expected. Not just monetarily, but additionally felt a tremendous amount of support from people who were discovering my work for the first time.
There were several really unique compliments I received that just about melted me. When someone really LOOKS at my work and voices how it makes them really feel gives me a lot of re-gained confidence at wanting to become a full-time working artist (always the long term goal-- but I've more recently become very 'okay' with the prospect that being full time will never happen and stick with freelancing and such for the rest of my life. It sounds sad, but I promise you it is not). Basically, it makes me really happy to see my work making other people happy.
Needless to say I will be back next year. I've already got a couple of new things in mind I want to have ready to offer by next spring. One of them is a really big project beyond the normal scope of my current skills-- which I'll make another post about at some point as it gets closer to spring. Crossing my fingers that it will all materialize the way I envision. ;-)
My Etsy store will continue to be open even though the market is over. If you are local and want to avoid the shipping costs, just contact me directly-- we can figure it out.
See you all again in summer of 2025.
